  1. Pour saline solution (8 fluid ounces of warm water with a heaping tablespoon of non-iodized salt (available in your local supermarket or pharmacy).
  2. Tilt your head to the side and insert the spout into your upper nostril as shown in the picture above.
  3. Lift the netty pot so the saline solution that you prepared flows directly into the nostril and out the lower nostril.

i've had nasal congestion issues since i was a kid. I've been using the neti pots for my nasal congestion (more allergies than anything) and not only am I finally able to breathe, but now I sleep better also. the two are probably interrelated. I liked the design and the material. I think the best material for neti pots is the ceramic. My co-worker said her plastic neti got ruined in the dishwasher.

I found it best if i used it when i first woke up before work and then again right afterr my evening shower.
